The company BNG, d.o.o., Rusjanov trg 4, SI-1000 Ljubljana, as the operator of the website zivalnik.si, is also the operator of the personal data of registered and unregistered users of the website. The company BNG, d.o.o. pays a lot of attention to the protection of personal data of users of our services.

Personal data are all data, that define or make an individual identifiable, such as name and surname, address, email address, etc. Personal data protection is enjoyed by individuals, therefore this privacy and personal data protection policy does not apply to the processing of personal data of physical of persons, who are active on the market and in this capacity also act as registered users according to the rules and conditions of use of Živalnik.si, as well as not on the data of legal entities.

We acquire and further process personal data for the purpose of providing services on these websites, improving the user experience as well as our services, and for the purpose of communicating and informing using various means of communication (e-mail, telephone or mobile number or through an online provider for providing »remote assistance« or »live chat«) and fulfilling legal obligations.

3.4 Editing personal data in »My profile«, in the control panel on the Živalnik.si Pets Marketplace platform

An individual can go to the Živalnik.si Pets Marketplace platform in the tab »My profile or My Account« adds, changes and updates their personal information. For this purpose, Živalnik processes:

3.5 Deletion of Živalnik profile

An individual can select the »Delete profile« function in his/her profile, within the control panel in the »Profile editing« tab, which will allow him/her to delete his/her Živalnik profile. In this case, in accordance with point (b) of paragraph 1 of article 6 of the GDPR, Živalnik will process the following personal data of the individual for the purpose of deleting your profile:


From the request to delete the profile, Živalnik will delete the user's personal data within 30 days at the latest.


3.6 Purchase of Živalinik's additional advertising products and completion of the purchase

As part of the leasing of additional advertising products via the Živalnik Shop page (making a purchase and payment, issuing an invoice, executing/completing a payment transaction, own analytics, tracking purchase history), Živalnik will process the following personal data:

We keep data on transactions and proof of purchases for 5 years after the purchase was made. Data from an incomplete basket are kept for 30 days after adding Živalnik's products to the basket. We will store some of the above-mentioned data in accordance with local legislation.


3.10 Linking a valid breeding certificate ense to the Živalnik user's profile

An individual (Breeder user type) can, in order to use the additional functionality and benefits of the Živalnik.si Pets Marketplace platform, connect a document or valid breeding license to his/her Živalnik profile, which enables him/her to publish classified ads free of charge (provided the other necessary prerequisites are met) and exposure on the »Verified Breeders« page and profile status supplement with a »Verified Breeder« badge specially prepared for this purpose.

For this purpose, Živalnik processes the following personal data, which may be listed on the document uploaded by the user or from the Živalnik editorial office, the following information is required for a proper review of the document and subsequent confirmation, if the criteria are met.

To carry out own analytics, which includes the following purposes: improving the user experience, promoting sales, optimizing and adjusting promotions and advertising campaigns, marketing research (success of individual advertising campaigns, success of sales of individual products and product groups, etc.) and research into user shopping habits, Živalnik processes the following personal data:

Data collected for this purpose is stored for the duration of processing and up to 3 months after consent for data processing is revoked.

The legal basis for processing personal data under this section is the individual’s consent to the processing of data for direct marketing.


Targeted marketing

Personal data (name, surname, postal address, phone number, email address, and other data provided upon registration) is used for targeted marketing, including customer analysis and segmentation, to provide personalized product and service offers. Consent for the processing of personal data for targeted marketing can be revoked at any time. Data collected for this purpose is stored for the duration of processing and up to 3 months after consent is revoked.

Data is protected against loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation and unauthorized access by third parties. Likewise, our employees are committed to the protection of users' personal data, compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies of the company BNG, d.o.o..

We regularly check the adopted protective measures and supplement them. We also verify the veracity of the provided identification data when necessary.


7. Period of retention of personal data


We store personal data of users in accordance with the prescribed retention periods, or until the purpose for which they were obtained is fulfilled. We keep personal data obtained on the basis of the user's consent until cancellation, unless a different period is foreseen in the given consent or determined by law (a longer retention period is prescribed for financial transactions, invoices, etc.).

Certain categories of data are kept longer for the purpose of fraud prevention, for the enforcement of claims or for other legitimate interests, but at the latest until the purpose for which they were selected is reached.


8. Rights of individuals regarding the processing of their personal data


Individuals or users of the zivalnik.si portal enter and provide personal data themselves. In order to ensure the accuracy and up-to-dateness of personal data, we ask users to immediately notify us of any changes to the email address info@zivalnik.si, or to enter such changes directly in their user profile on zivalnik.si.

Deletion of personal data within the user profile is possible based on the user's request sent to the address of the company's headquarters or the administrator's email address or through the contact form »Contact« on zivalnik.si or through the user profile.

The process of deleting the entire user account can be stopped within 24 hours, after the user submits a deletion request or manual deletion. After the expiration of this period, it is no longer possible to cancel the deletion.

We inform users that the above-mentioned rights are not absolute, but that we check their validity before exercising them. When exercising rights, we will first check the user's identity, as the specified rights can only be exercised by the owner of the personal data. We will then process the request and notify the user of its completion within a month of receiving the request. In the case of complex requests or a large number of requests, the deadline for fulfillment can be extended by a maximum of 2 months, which we will inform the user about in time. Users are also informed that upon exercising certain rights, they will be prevented from using the services of the zivalnik.si website, the use of which is not possible without their consent.

In case of suspicion that the data is not processed in accordance with the applicable regulations in the field of personal data protection, every user has the right to complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, which is the competent state authority in the field of personal data protection.
